We are celebrating this year by providing many ways for you to donate (all proceeds go to Surfrider unless noted):

1. By attending our event on April 21st from 10-2pm we will be having many opportunities for donations through the following vendors and treatments, including: It’s a Luv Thing Apparel, Janet Huntley Jewelry, Lofty Bean Coffee, as well as reflexology treatments and chair massage!

2. All month long we will be taking $1 donations for entry into a drawing at the end of the month to win our entire Stress Fix line (A $90 value!). The amount of entries per person are unlimited so better your odds with each $1 donated!

3.Take home our “Light The Way” Lavender soy wax candle for a $12 donation. Greengrants This candle burns for over 26 hours and 100% of the donations go to help create water wells for families usually lacking a source of clean drinking water.

4. 20% of any succulent arrangements purchased in the month of April will also go towards the foundation.

Some at home water saving tips:

*If you are waiting for your shower to heat up, catch colder water in a bucket and use it to water your plants.

*Save water by waiting to run your laundry and dishwasher until completely full.

*Skip bottled water. It takes 3 times as much water to make a bottle than it does to just refill a reusable container.

Deeksha means “blessing or initiation” in Sanskrit. Please read below for  an in depth description of how this will benefit you.

Deeksha is a transmission of energy that affects the activity of the brain leading to heightened states of consciousness and meditation.  Most commonly the transmission occurs when the “Deeksha giver” places hands on the head of the receiver for a minute or two. Deeksha is based on an ancient principle that states: “Anything can be transferred, be it states of consciousness, wisdom, or energy.” In many eastern traditions mantras were used by masters to transfer spiritual experiences, and the practice of the laying-on the hands exists in many traditions throughout the world.

Deeksha affects neuro-biological change.  There are 16 centers in the brain responsible for the experiences of sensory perception, emotions, creativity, and learning. Deeksha results in the activation of certain centers and the slowing down and de-activation of others.  This brings about a shift in the perception and experience of life.

 Scientists have measured the effect of Deeksha on the balance of electromagnetic impulses emitted by the brain.  They have determined that within thirty seconds of a Deeksha transmission the activity of the parietal lobes, as well as the brain stem and limbic system, become quieter and more balanced, while the activity of the frontal lobes increases.

Furthermore, the effects of Deeksha are cumulative; the more Deeksha a person receives the more balanced the person becomes.

 Deeksha is received in a seated position after a short breathing practice. Resting on a yoga mat for 15 minutes or as needed after Deeksha prolongs the effect.  When you feel ready to get up and leave please do so quietly. We ask that you please observe silence throughout the process so as not to help others.
